An independent 3rd party with no agenda surrounding QR Codes (comScore) has reported that QR Codes are growing in popularity, particularly in the prized demographic of affluent men in the 18 - 34 year old age group.* 

In fact, men between 25 and 34 accounted for 36.8% of QR code scanners.  That means that they are more than twice as likely to scan a QR code than the average smart phone user.

While most of the scanning was done at home from newspapers and magazines (58%), it is interesting to note that almost 40% was done IN THE STORE from codes attached to actual products!

Another important fact is that 18 - 24 year old men accounted for approximately the same percentage (36.0%) as the 25 - 34 year old group (36.8%).

Affluent?  Yes... affluent!!  According to the report, more than 1/3(over 36%) had a household income of at least $100,000!!! 

The greatest majority scanned QR codes in magazines and newspapers and on product packaging.*
